About Credit Cards for Rewards
Credit Cards for Rewards (creditcardsforrewards.com) is an education-focused site for people in the United States who want to use credit cards responsibly and get fair value from rewards programs. We write about habits, product fit and transparent tradeoffs, not loopholes, manufactured spend or debt tricks. Our goal is to help you keep more of what you earn without pressure to open cards you don't need.
Who this site is for
- People choosing a first rewards card who want plain answers to questions like cash back or points, and whether an annual fee is worth it.
- People who already pay their card in full every month and want everyday spending, such as groceries, dining and travel, to earn a little more.
- People comparing card types: flat-rate cash back, category bonuses, transferable travel points, and airline or hotel co-brand cards.
- People building or rebuilding credit, and people paying down an existing balance, who want to understand secured, student and intro APR cards before applying.
If interest charges are already part of your month, rewards should wait. Rewards grow slowly; interest erases them quickly.
What we cover
- A card catalog. Widely available US credit cards, grouped into eight card types. You can filter by fee, credit range, network, issuer and features. Every card has its own page with key facts, pros, cons, what to watch out for and the date its details were last reviewed.
- The Card Finder. Five quick questions lead to usually 3 to 5 cards that may fit (fewer if very few cards fit your answers), with plain-language reasons. No sign-up, no personal details and no credit check. Your answers are kept in the page address so you can bookmark or share your results; they aren't saved to an account, but like any web address they can appear in standard server logs when the page loads.
- Side-by-side comparison. Compare up to three cards on the same set of facts. Your picks are kept in your browser's storage and in the page address, so they're still there when you come back.
- Guides. Beginner-friendly guides on choosing and using rewards cards. Our first guide covers how to choose a first rewards credit card; guides on category strategy and redemptions are on the way.
Our methodology explains how cards are organized, compared and matched, and our editorial policy explains how we research, date and correct our pages.
What we won't do
- Promote loopholes, manufactured spend or anything that depends on carrying a balance.
- Push you to open cards you don't need, or treat a welcome bonus as a reason to spend more.
- List welcome offers, APRs or other fast-changing terms as fixed facts. They change often, so we point you to the issuer's site for current terms.
- Check your credit, prequalify you or predict approval. Issuers make their own decisions.
- Ask for your Social Security number or full card numbers. The site has no user accounts.
- Give personal financial, legal or tax advice. Everything here is general education.
How the site makes money
Credit Cards for Rewards may earn a commission when you apply for a credit card or related product through links on this site. That compensation can help cover hosting and content costs, and it does not change the price you pay.
Right now, the card links on our card pages, in the Card Finder and in the comparison tool go straight to issuer websites. They are not affiliate links. We aim to recommend products based on fit for common spending patterns and responsible use—not solely on payout size. If we add affiliate partnerships, we will update our affiliate disclosure.
