Who should pick which

By the Credit Cards for Rewards editorial team · How we evaluate cards

Ink Business Preferred charges a fee in the $1–$99 band for transferable Ultimate Rewards on travel, shipping, advertising, telecom and internet, with yearly caps on those bonus categories. Ink Business Unlimited has no annual fee and pays about 1.5% cash back on everything.

Pick the Ink Business Preferred if…

  • Your business spends heavily on ads, shipping, travel or telecom.
  • You want points that transfer, and you'll take time to learn redemptions.
  • Staff travel abroad; this card has no foreign transaction fee.

Pick the Ink Business Unlimited if…

  • You'd rather not pay an annual fee.
  • Purchases are spread out and you want flat earn with no categories.
  • Simple cash back suits you; moving points from this card to travel partners needs a Sapphire or the Ink Preferred.

Bottom line

Both list a personal guarantee as standard. Pay the Preferred's fee only if its bonus categories match real spending; otherwise the Unlimited is less to manage. Current earn rates: check the issuer.
